Waterline Toronto is a semi-exclusive gathering for established rationalists and effective altruists who are interested in exploring a wider range of topics together.
The topics are sometimes off the beaten path for these communities. If you are a very mainline rationalist or EA, you may have a better time at the open meetups. We do not expect everyone in these communities to be particularly interested in the events on offer.
To be invited, become known at open spaces in the ecosystem, such as:
- Applied Rationality Toronto
- Toronto EA meetups (coming soon)
- Trajectory Labs
- KW Rationality
- Rational Ottawa
and demonstrate familiarity with rationalist epistemic norms. If you're from another city, get your organizer to intro you.
Alternatively, have a legibly rationalist/EA online presence.
In every city with a medium to large number of rationalists, there are inner rings with private events. Waterline Toronto is an experiment in creating an unusually legible medium ring for Toronto, hopefully without too much ensuing drama.
